There’s a saying here in the South – “The squeaky wheel gets the oil”. Now, if you’re unsure of the meaning – just think back to when you heard something constantly screeching or such as a dripping faucet.
That constant annoying sound, or dripping faucet, will drive you crazy and you WILL take action and or do something to stop the noise!
This is what’s happening to our 2A fight! We’ve been too quiet for far too long and there is a bad storm brewing to come in and steal our country and constitutional, God given rights.
There’s a lot of code speak regarding “gun violence”, gun control, “Red flag laws” and the like.
What does it all mean, to you?
Wikipedia defines Red flag law as “ In the United States, a red flag law is a gun control law that permits police -also includes family members and others – petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who they believe may present a danger to others or themselves.”
Before going any further, we should take a closer look.
It’s not only the Police who can make a claim but anyone! Suppose you’re involved in a relationship and your “other half” makes an accusation…because you
- had a bad break up
- an argument (with a neighbor, spouse, family member, friend, co worker, boss…)
- your partner is violent (or domestic abuser).
Yes, these UN-substantiated claims could have your rights and firearms removed without the presumption of innocence or a hearing.
Wikipedia continues, “A judge makes the determination to issue the order based on statements and actions made by the gun owner in question.[1] Refusal to comply with the order is punishable as a criminal offense.[2][3] After a set time, the guns are returned to the person from whom they were seized unless another court hearing extends the period of confiscation.[4][5][6]”
So, could someone lie to the judge and say you said x-y-z happened… yadda, yadda, in order to disarm you or for revenge sake? There’s plenty of evidence that something of this sort could easily come from what fills our news reports lately….
“Orders issued under “red flag” laws, also called risk-based gun removal laws,[7] are known by several names, including Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) (in Oregon, Washington, Maryland, Vermont, and Colorado); Extreme Risk Firearm Protection Orders (ERFPO) (in New Mexico); Risk Protection Orders (in Florida); Gun Violence Restraining Orders (GVROs) (in California); risk warrants (in Connecticut); and Proceedings for the Seizure and Retention of a Firearm (in Indiana).[8] As of 2021, 19 states and the District of Columbia have enacted some form of red-flag law.[9][10] The specifics of the laws, and the degree to which they are utilized, vary from state to state.[11] “
There is more ambiguity than clarity. This regulation does not pass the smell test.
- What are the limitations?
- How long can your personal property be kept from you?
- Who gets to decide? Or Report?
- Why have you been stripped of your guns before you had a fair trial?
- Why are we not presumed to be innocent?
On another note, a point to consider and notice the “buzz words” used by the media and others. Hey, they’re good at it and it flies under the radar. We have to pay closer attention to what’s NOT being said!
We, good honest people, tend to believe that others have the same intentions and come from a place of doing what is right and best for all.
…Remember, there Is a reason why “they” want to take away our Second Amendment rights. Let’s be bold and take a stand to ensure we have our freedoms.
What can you do?
- Contact your state representatives – Call, email them and in a “Dragnet” matter of fact way, give them “just the facts” that you are not in support of Red Flag Laws and limiting your Second Amendment rights.
- You are in support of women having the right to choose any way they choose and they have the right to protect their lives.
- Domestic violence victims will become more helpless if such laws are passed. This puts more people in dangerous, life threatening situation(s).
- “gun violence” is NOT a viable term. A firearm cannot and isn’t violent; it takes a person to cause harm using a firearm. The heart of an individual cannot be regulated.
I want to introduce you to the “Hold my Guns” organization if you have a loved one in crisis.
Hold My Guns’ mission is to connect responsible firearm owners with voluntary, private off-site storage options, through their national network of partnering gun shops and FFLs, for safety during times of mental health crisis or personal need. You know where they are, who is holding it for you and can claim your property without having to go to court to get what rightfully belongs to you.
In light of the recent shootings and concern for those in need, I believe Hold My Guns is a better option.
On a personal note, I feel that there is more of a crisis with the different mental health department and agencies not communicating with one another. The solution should be focused on solving why the aftermath messages is always about missing all the “signs”!
So lets all make some noise, that being schedule into your calendar to make that call, write that email to your representative. We must come together as a group with one repeating voice of No Red Flag Laws.
Stay in prayer for America and keep your eyes open.
God Bless,
Jan
